Workshop DETAILS
Tour Length: 3 hours all inclusive
Difficulty: Moderate. We will be doing some moderate walking/hiking to get a variety of photos with the fall colors
Tour Departure: We will meet at a designated location on Saturday, October 11, 2025 in the afternoon. Once we are all booked, Toni will reach out to you with meet up information prior to the workshop to set up all the details. Our workshop will include capturing the stunning fall colors into a sunset shoot.
Guides: This workshop will be hosted by Toni Toreno, founder and avid local photographer with Bend Photo Tours
Weather Conditions: Although Central Oregon is notorious for "300 day of sunshine a year" there are days where the weather is less than optimal. In most cases we will still have the workshop, but may change the location if necessary. Note that we cannot offer refunds due to weather unless we cannot go out at all, but will reschedule the workshop. Also keep in mind that inclement weather often results in some of the most dramatic and stunning photos! Just make sure you dress and prepare accordingly.
Food/Water: We do not provide food on our outings. All participants should bring food/water to hold them through during the tour.
What to Wear: You should check the weather forecast prior to coming on the date of the workshop. Since this is an afternoon shoot, the temperatures could drop so bring layers.
Restroom Facilities: We should have access to restrooms from our photo spots.
Cell Phones: Bring them! Note that cell service is limited during some of the drive.
Group Size: 2-8 max
Camera Gear: A wide angle zoom as well as a mid-range lens lens are the most useful for landscape photos to get the most of the area in the shot (equivalent to lenses ranging from 16-70mm on a full-frame camera or 10-55mm on a crop sensor). If you want to try and get in some tight shots of wildlife (we sometimes have deer and birds in the area), I would also recommend a zoom lens (70-200mm works for most things, but feel free to go higher if you’d like). Tripods are highly recommended since we will be around water and will make it able to do long exposures. You will also need a camera that has a "manual" setting or a way to you can control the aperture, shutter speed and ISO independently. Don’t forget extra batteries, memory cards, and cleaning supplies. It is also recommended to bring neutral density filters if you’d like to get the smooth water effect.
Additional Gear: Since we will be outside we encourage sunscreen and bug spray, and any other items you that you would like to have to make you comfortable.
If you need to rent gear for your trip we encourage you to use Focal Point Photography
Cancellation/Re-Scheduling: Please see our Terms and Conditions.
